variety.com/2014/film/news/katie-holmes-miss-meadows-us-distribution-1201251324/Entertainment One Films has acquired U.S. and Canada distribution rights to Katie Holmes’ action vehicle “Miss Meadows” for a fall release. It’s the first deal made by Berry Meyerowitz since he was brought on as eOne’s president of U.S. film and distribution as part of a recent deal to integrate his Phase 4 Films into eOne. James Badge Dale, Mary Kay Place and Jean Smart also star in “Miss Meadows,” directed and written by Karen Leigh Hopkins and produced by “Crazy Heart” producers Eric Brenner and Rob Carliner. Holmes plays a sweet and proper elementary school teacher who moonlights as a gun-toting vigilante. The film screened at Tribeca in April. The deal was negotiated for eOne Films by Larry Greenberg and for the filmmakers by ICM Partners. Holmes is represented by ICM Partners, Untitled Entertainment and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern.
