Don Greene, who formed a tag team with working brother Al (Al Denney) as The Heavenly Bodies for promoter Nick Gulas in Tennessee, passed away on 6/21.
The two also teamed up as The Masked Superstars in Florida.
The Heavenly Bodies were one of the legendary tag teams of their era in Tennessee for their battles with the like of a pre-Mr. Wrestling II Johnny Walker, Jackie Fargo, Jerry Jarrett and Tojo Yamamoto.
It is little known that the second Heavenly Bodies consisted of Don Greene & Jerry Lawler in Georgia.
Jim Cornette revived the name in tribute to the Greenes in the 90s, teaming Stan Lane & Tom Prichard, and later Prichard & Jimmy Del Rey, as The Heavenl Bodies in Smoky Mountain Wrestling.
