www.bleedingcool.com/2014/06/05/this-is-what-a-quarter-of-a-million-comics-in-longboxes-looks-like/Wonderworld comics owners Dennis Barger and Robert Bowman in Taylor MI are selling off their their 250,000 back issues of comic books to whoever will take them. In bulk. Citing increases in rent and the reducing demand at shows for the dollar box – as well as the DC Comics reboot – they say they have lost faith in the back issue market. But if you think they’re wrong, you could have a steal. They have 700 long boxes on 30 pallets waiting in a warehouse in Taylor, Michigan. They describe the books as full runs of series, every collection they have purchased, as well as overstock purchased from Deperado and Devils Due, mostly bagged and boarded. Dennis Barger and Robert Bowman, co-owners of Wonderworld Comics, just sold 700 longboxes of comics in a single transaction. The bulk sale came about because they leased some new warehouse space and decided they would rather sell the comics than move them. Barger wouldn’t say who the buyer was, but he did say it was a “major retailer.” www.thenewsherald.com/articles/2014/06/26/news/doc53a978dc9e75d628044275.txtTAYLOR — Wonderworld Comics just sold off the mother lode of comic book back issues. Co-owners Dennis Barger and Robert Bowman recently inked a lease on a new warehouse, and rather than move 30 pallets with more than 700 long boxes of comic back issues, they sold them in bulk. The long boxes included full series runs, purchased collections and overstock from both Devil's Due and Desperado comics. Most of the books are already bagged and boarded. The entire collection was loaded in the back of a semitrailer Tuesday night. "Still had room for one more pallet," Barger said. While he didn't say who bought the books, Barger did say it was a major retailer. Barger also declined to comment on how much the wholesale discount was, instead saying that he got "a very big check."
