variety.com/2014/news/world-cup-documentary-we-must-go-distribution-1201211615/A week before the start of the World Cup, Gravitas Ventures has bought worldwide VOD and TV rights to the documentary “We Must Go” about the Egyptian national soccer team. Amid the massive unrest in Egypt, the squad did not qualify for the World Cup for the sixth consecutive tournament. The team’s coach Bob Bradley, former coach of the U.S. team, continued to coach despite the suspension of the Egyptian league following a riot that left more than 70 people dead in Port Said. Egypt won in its first six matches of qualifying but fell to Ghana in the third round playoffs. Gravitas will release the title globally on June 10, two days before the start of the World Cup in Brazil. The film has available subtitles in 11 languages. Producers are Dave LaMattina, Chad Walker and Clay Frost. “Despite Egypt’s failure to reach the World Cup, we feel like the film captures a tremendous sense of hope,” said LaMattina. “For two years, the players managed to put aside political differences in hopes of achieving something great together.”
