1985 - Oprah Winfrey made an appearance at a WWF event in Chicago, IL. The three top matches aired on "AM Chicago" on 5/27/85 with Winfrey doing commentary and also interviewing Hulk Hogan and Don Muraco, The results of the show saw:
-Bret Hart defeated SD Jones
-Ken Patera defeated George Wells
-The Spoiler defeated Rick McGraw
-Jesse Ventura defeated Ivan Putski via count-out after the two brawled on the floor.
-Tito Santana & the Junkyard Dog defeated WWF Intercontinental champion Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake when JYD pinned Valentine with a powerslam.
-WWF champion Hulk Hogan pinned Don Muraco with a roll up after Muraco accidentally collided with Mr. Fuji on the ring apron. After the bout, Hogan chased off both Muraco and Fuji before celebrating with Oprah.
1987 - Jim Crockett Promotions debuted at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois, drawing 9,000 fans (a sellout) with the following results:
-Tim Horner fought Eddie Gilbert to a draw.
-Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts defeated Sting & Rick Steiner.
-Terry Taylor fought Chris Adams to a no contest.
-The Rock N' Roll Express, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson defeated NWA U.S. Tag Team Champions Midnight Express, Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane in a non-title Best 2 out of 3 falls match.
-Michael Hayes defeated Big Bubba via disqualification.
-Manny Fernandez & Vladimir Pietrov defeated Barry Windham & Brad Armstrong.
-NWA U.S. Champion Nikita Koloff defeated Ivan Koloff in a chain match.
-Dusty Rhodes & the Road Warriors defeated NWA World Champion Ric Flair, NWA TV Champion Tully Blanchard, & Lex Luger.
