The martial arts series, based on the popular Capcom arcade game, was created by Joey Ansah, who also stars as Akuma. He wrote the project with Christian Howard, who reprises his role as Ken Masters from the fan film “Street Fighter: Legacy,” that got “Assassin’s Fist” the greenlight. The show is one of the first high-profile projects to debut on Machinima since Chad Gutstein was named the company’s new CEO in March, and is now focused on growing the network’s viewership, primarily made up of 18-34-year-old men, a lucrative demo for advertisers. Honda is sponsoring the “Assassin’s Fist” series. Machinima brokered the deal to land the exclusive rights to “Assassin’s Fist” with Content Media, which is distributing the series that revolves around the coming-of-age story of brothers Ken and Ryu. Mike Moh also stars as Ryu, Togo Igawa as Gōtetsu, Akira Koieyama as Gōken, Gaku Space as Gōki, Mark Killeen as Mr. Masters, and Hal Yamanouchi as Senzo. Jacqueline Quella (“Romanzo Criminale,” “Don’t Tell”) produced the series with Lonely Rock Prods, Gloucester Place Films, Capcom U.S.A., and Evropa Film.
