Warner Bros. has dated “Ninjago,” a spinoff pic in the Lego franchise, for Sept. 23, 2016.
Ninjago is the Lego Group’s hugely popular ninja-inspired line of building sets and minifigures that have gained their own legion of fans.
Charlie Bean will direct the pic with Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller producing.
“The Lego Movie” was released earlier this year and went on to be the first major blockbuster of 2014, grossing $461 million worldwide. A sequel for the movie, directed by Chris Kay, has also been set.
