Sanford Jay Frank, a four-time Emmy winning television writer for shows including “Late Night With David Letterman,” “In Living Color” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” died at his home in Calabasas, Calif., on April 18 following a two-year battle with brain cancer. He was 59.
His book “The Inner Game of Screenwriting” was published in 2011.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Frank had a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a law degree from Harvard. He practiced law for a short time before beginning his screenwriting career.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; three daughters; and a brother.
