From: www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/comic-con-big-10-mean-25m-weekend-for-indyINDIANAPOLIS - These days, you can't find super heroes just anywhere. But at the Indianapolis Convention Center this weekend, mere mortals mixed with the likes of Superman (not to mention their favorite comic book artists). And that's exactly what nearly 15,000 paying fans did. "I've been to like maybe 10 Comic Cons in the last few years," said Ian Kolosowski of South Bend, who ranked Indianapolis' first time hosting the convention a "10." Organizers agree, saying the first Indiana Comic Con was an unbridled success that has already been confirmed for next year. "It's a comic book convention, but we have other things. We have action figures, toys, balloon animals. Yesterday we had speed dating. We have something for everyone," said Kailee Baylor, one of the convention's organizers. The event sold out on Saturday, combining with the Big 10 Men's Basketball Tournament and another national convention, plus St. Patrick's Day festivities, to add up to a $25 million weekend for Indianapolis. The weekend was set to culminate with the Big 10 title showdown at Banker's Life Fieldhouse.
