The trial of former AWA Light Heavyweight champion and WWF preliminary performer Eugene Otto "Buck" Zumhofe will stand trial this week on 12 felony counts of criminal sexual conduct for having alleged sexual contact with a young female relative approximately 1,800 times between 1999 and 2011.
During an evidence hearing last year, the victim claimed that she was molested by Zumhofe while she was 17 and traveling with his independent promotion.
Later, she moved in with Zumhofe and engaged in sexual relations with him several times a week. This went on for several years.
Zumhofe originally asked for a speedy trial but attempted to have it postponed this week, claiming his investigator has not yet been able to contact everyone Zumhofe wished to call as witnesses. The West Central Tribune reported that Zumhofe's attempts were shut down and the trial is expected to start this week, running through 3/7.

Former AWA star Buck Zumhofe testified in his own defense earlier this week, claiming that all allegations against him were false. Zumofe was arrested last year and charged with six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, all against a female member of his family, starting when she was 15 years old and living with him.
Zumhofe had previously attempted to get the trial pushed back, claiming he had not yet been able to reach all of the witnesses he needed. That motion was shot down.
The trial is still ongoing.

WILLMAR, Minn. — The 62-year-old Cyrus man accused of molesting a close female relative denied the allegations Tuesday when he testified in his own defense.
Eugene “Buck” Zumhofe took the stand in his criminal sexual conduct trial Tuesday afternoon and denied any sexual involvement with the young woman, now 29.
Under questioning by defense attorney Carter Greiner, Zumhofe denied the previous testimony by the woman, saying he never had sexual contact or engaged in any other inappropriate actions with her.
Zumhofe is a former professional wrestler who performed as Buck “Rock n’ Roll” Zumhofe in the 1980s and early 1990s.
He faces six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with the young woman beginning when she was 15 in 1999. She began living with Zumhofe at that time. The abuse is alleged to have continued until 2011.
The trial before District Judge David Mennis continues today in Kandiyohi County District Court.

When former AWA star Buck Zumhofe was convicted yesterday of six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct yesterday in Minnesota, he actually attempted to flee the courtroom in a last second bid for freedom. Reports are that Zumhofe went to use a restroom and from there, attempted to flee. Zumhofe didn't get far as he was tackled by court officers and immediately charged with "escape from custody."
Zumhofe was convicted after less than four hours of jury deliberations.
Zumhofe, 62, is slated to be sentenced today.
