TNA house show results
February 21, 2014
Huntington, W. Va.
From the pre-show meet & greet: the Bro-Mans were very nice, Gail Kim was gorgeous and sweet, the Wolves were very cool and nice, and Rockstar Spud was annoying. Very annoying.
Before the show started, Gunner and Earl Hebner were on one side signing autographs and taking pictures. On the other side, Brian Hebner had the TNA World Title and people were getting to hold it and takes pics with it for free. They also had a Velvet Sky meet and greet that was included in the VIP package. She was very sweet and nice, signing whatever people brought and taking pictures.
(1) Eric Young beat Zema Ion in a comedy match. If EY won, they would give out backstage passes. If Zema won, they wouldn't. EY won with the elbow drop, so they gave out some backstage packages.
(2) Velvet Sky beat Gail Kim. Typical Knockouts action. Gail grabbed a rag and wiped off the rope where Velvet did her entrance (best in the business, might I add). EY sat ringside with some kids and after the match got "thrown out" by Rockstar Spud for trying to attack him.
(3) Gunner beat James Storm with the diving headbutt. They hyped this match and feud heavily all night. Storm is great as a heel.
(4) The Wolves beat TNA tag champions Bro-Mans (Robbie E. & Jessie) via DQ; Bro-Mans retained the TNA Tag Titles. The DQ came when Zema Ion pulled Hebner out of the ring and he hit the barricade. The Wolves are phenomenal in the ring. Just phenomenal.
(5) Mr. Anderson beat Bobby Roode in a 2/3 Falls match. Roode attacked Anderson before the bell, threw him into the ring, and pinned him once the bell rang for the first fall. Roode and Brian Hebner got into it, and Anderson scored a roll-up for the second fall. Even at 1-1. Anderson ended up winning with the Mic Check.
[ Intermission. If you bought the VIP package, you got to go backstage where Magnus, Roode, Storm, and Anderson were signing. Magnus and Roode were jerks, as they didn't seem enthused whatsoever to be there. If they were just playing heels, Storm was very nice despite his recent heel turn and held some conversations with people, which was nice after Roode and Magnus were rude. Anderson was the best - very talkative and willing to take any kind of picture with people and sign whatever. ]
(6) TNA World Hvt. champion Magnus beat Samoa Joe in a steel cage match to retain the TNA World Title. Rockstar Spud hit Joe with the cage door while the ref was down. Then, Spud pulled Magnus out for the revived ref to see him out and call for the bell. EY came back and threw Spud back in to the cage for Joe to deliver a Musclebuster to end the show.
After the show, Joe took pics with fans by the cage for $20, unless you had the VIP package, which it was included.
Overall, it was a decent show. The actual interactions with talent were pretty awesome minus Roode and Magnus. Everyone else was extremely nice. House show matches typically aren't great, but it's still cool to be there. The Wolves and Samoa Joe are awesome - you won't be disappointed if you see them in person. Decent size crowd - more than last year's show by a lot.
