Comcast, which owns NBC-Universal and is currently negotiating their new TV deal with WWE, announced that they are acquiring Time Warner Cable in a deal worth $44.2 billion.
For those of you who have asked whether this sale could have any effect on the WWE-Comcast negotiations, it is too early to accurately predict that.
Should the acquisition make it past anti-trust regulators, the Comcast/Time-Warner merger would effectively create the largest cable company ever in the United States.
Comcast is the biggest cable provider in the country with 23 million subscribers.
Time-Warner is the second biggest with 12 million subscribers.
