WIL WHEATON FILES SUIT AGAINST LEGENDARY'S GEEK & SUNDRY
Claims Underpayment From 'Titansgrave' Profits Posted by Jeffrey Dohm-Sanchez on August 7, 2019 @ 9:25 am CT
Wil Wheaton and his loan-out company Media Dynamics filed suit against Legendary's Geek & Sundry for breach of contract on August 5 in a Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The former Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Big Bang Theory star is suing Legendary Geek & Sundry over an unpaid revenue share from the Titansgrave: The Ashes of Valkana web series, part of TableTop's RPG spin-off show (see "'TableTop' RPG Show Announced"). Wheaton claims that Legendary hired him to create, host, and executive produce the web series entitled Titansgrave: The Ashes of Valkana in return for $50,000 and 50% of its net profits. An alleged breach of contract occurred when Legendary didn't "consult meaningfully" with Wheaton over distribution, as outlined in their agreement. Legendary reportedly negotiated licensing agreements with Sinclair Broadcasting, Hulu, and Pluto TV without telling him that they were doing so. Legendary has also refused a audit of its books, according to the suit, which has led Wheaton to seek at least $100,000 in damages and request a court order that a full accounting to be done.
