SONY Signs WIZARD WORLD Deal To Target Con Attendees
Wizard World has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment in a broad intellectual property deal "to find the next generation of movies as well as to engage in a number of strategic initiatives." Under this new deal, the two companies will option and develop original IP from the writers, artists, and creators who attend Wizard World's various conventions.
“We are always looking for new ways to find that next generation of great IP,” said Jonathan Kadin, Sony Pictures' Executive Vice President of Production for Sony Pictures. “This deal gives us unique access to the incredible talent that Wizard World can bring to the table, putting us in a prime position to find the stories that break through the clutter.”
In addition to IP development, Wizard World and Sony will also develop opportunities in licensing, retail, and location-based entertainment.
