Calvary, starring Brendan Gleeson, has closed a deal with Fox Searchlight, according to sources.
The movie reteams John Michael McDonagh with Gleeson, who previously worked together on The Guard, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
Calvary tells the story of a priest, Father James (Gleeson), whose life is threatened by an unseen man during confession.
The darkly comedic drama also stars Chris O'Dowd, Kelly Reilly, Aidan Gillen, Dylan Moran and Marie-Josée Croze.
Calvary premiered at Eccles Theatre on Jan. 19 to strong reviews and was produced by Chris Clark, Flora Fernandez-Marengo and James Flynn.
The sale will be Searchlight's second of the fest, coming a day after it nabbed the sci-fi movie I Origins for more than $3 million.
UTA repped the filmmakers in the sale.
