After premiering at Sundance, the documentary that follows the son of a top Hamas leader in Isreal, “The Green Prince,” has secured UK, Australia and New Zealand distribution deals. Curzon has the UK rights, and Madman Entertainment will distribute in Australia and New Zealand.
The opening night doc was produced by Simon Chinn of Red Box Films and John Battsek of Passion Pictures and directed and produced by Nadav Schirman of A-List Films. It tells the story of Mosab Hassan Yousef, an informant to the Isreali secret service for more than a decade.
“The reception to the film — and to the film’s inspirational protagonists — at Sundance has been extremely gratifying, and we are delighted that there is already such significant interest from the distribution community,” said Battsek in a statement.
Josh Braun of Submarine is repping sales in North America.
Global Screen negotiated the deals with Louisa Dent of Curzon and Paul Wiegard of Madman.
