Forbes featured a really interesting article that claims that with the announcement of the Network, WWE has now put themselves firmly in the driver's seat as they begin to negotiate new television rights fees for their programming. It was noted that 4 million viewers tuned into Raw this past week and that amount, if they subscribed, would be all WWE needed to match their 2012 revenue.
Since the WWE programming and the demographic they bring are so coveted, WWE showing that they could - if they wanted - bring everything in house only gives them more leverage to get the best deal possible for Raw, Smackdown, etc.
2014 is going to be an incredibly interesting year for pro wrestling. The landscape will change as much, if not more, than it did in 2001.
