Annapurna and Twentieth Century Fox Film have entered into a multiyear home entertainment deal. Per the agreement, Fox will service the U.S. home entertainment rights for all Annapurna-produced pictures across physical, Digital HD and TVOD platforms. Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit, which opens Aug. 4, will be the first film released under the agreement. The deal extends Annapurna’s distribution operation, which has in recent months formed international distribution partnerships with MGM, eOne, Longride, Mars Distribution, and Eagle Pictures/Leone Film Group. For Fox, the agreement expands its home entertainment reach, which already includes the studios’ own theatrical releases, as well as those of MGM, DreamWorks Animation, eOne, EuropaCorp, Lucasfilm, MGM, Pathe and Warner Brothers. “We are very excited to partner with Twentieth Century Fox Film to extend the reach of our films beyond the in-theater experience,” said Erik Lomis, Annapurna's president of distribution.
