Marvel's new crossover event launching in May 2014, titled Original Sin. After the murder of Uatu the Watcher in his home on the moon, it's up to Earth's heroes to find out why he was killed, who killed him, and how they can protect the information he's collected from seeing them all these years. Marvel announced the series, written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Mike Deodato, Jr. on USAToday.com Tuesday. The story will run eight issues in four months, and heavily features the old, original Nick Fury, who gathers Avengers superstars Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor amongst others to track down Uatu's killer. Meanwhile, the motley crew of The Punisher, Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, Ant-Man, and Black Panther will also be investigating the crime on their own. Aaron promises that The Punisher and Doctor Strange will be written "like a buddy-cop movie." As is par for the course on these event series, there will be tie-in issues, where it was hinted by editor Tom Brevoort that characters will have to deal with secrets known only to themselves and The Watcher coming out. "The stakes involved in Original Sin are much more personally involved" than the universal stakes of 2013's event Infinity, Brevoort told USA Today. "It's all the characters having to deal with something that really throws their whole world for a loop in a very cutting-close-to-the-heart way." While the proper series starts off in May, a zero issue by Mark Waid and Jim Cheung will land in April to re-introduce readers to Uatu through the eyes of Nova, one of Marvel's youngest heroes.
