In addition, Marvel will also provide a code for another free comic, a Bonus Digital Comic, with each issue. The bonus comic will be revealed through print and social media messaging each week. This new program splits the difference between the way Marvel handled codes for free digital copies in January (a free digital copy of the comic being purchased), and the one it changed to in February. This new program give consumer codes for two comics with each purchase of a print comic; for the comic being purchased and for a second bonus comic of Marvel’s choice. Marvel acknowledged that the reaction to its February change led to this latest announcement. “We heard the message loud and clear on digital same issue codes,” Marvel Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing David Gabriel said. “We heard how folks across the world were using them, relying on them, loving them.” The switch in Marvel’s free-with digital comic program will take place beginning the week of May 3rd, the week Secret Empire #1 launches.
