Alias Investigations Is Back In Business: ‘Jessica Jones’ Season Two Begins Production
Back in May Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter told Digital Spy that she was going to be shooting The Defenders and Jessica Jones season two back to back. Since The Defenders wrapped filming on March 19th it’s not surprising that according to The MCU Exchange the second season of the award winning Netflix series has started filming. At the moment we don’t know much about the second season of the series aside from that it will feature all female directors.
At the moment we also don’t have a release date for season two but judging by what we know is in production we can make some educated guesses. The Defenders has wrapped filming and currently has a release date of “summer 2017” with guesses being either June or July that the eight part series will drop.
The Punisher is currently filming and has a release date of 2017 so we can assume that the series will likely be in the late fall. If we had to guess perhaps October or November.
Jessica Jones has just started production so it’s likely that it will be early 2018 with an educated guess of March. While it hasn’t been announced yet.
Daredevil season three is likely going to be the next series they work on, we’ll likely have confirmation of that during Comic-Con International in July, with a likely release date of fall 2018 if Marvel/Netflix continues with their “two series a year” plan. (Note: The Defenders is a mini series which is why this plan is likely still in play despite us technically getting three series in 2017).
Luke Cage is also due for a second season at some point while the fate of more seasons of Iron Fist is currently up in the air.
