Berlin: Aubrey Plaza, Emile Hirsch, Craig Robinson Team for 'An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn' (Exclusive)
Jemaine Clement and Matt Berry will also star in the film from 'Greasy Strangler' director Jim Hosking.
A stellar lineup has assembled for An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn, with Aubrey Plaza, Craig Robinson, Emile Hirsch, Jemaine Clement and Matt Berry set to star in the newly-announced project.
The film is being directed by Jim Hosking (The Greasy Strangler), who co-wrote the script with David Wike, and is currently shooting in Eureka, California. Wigwam Films, Park Pictures and Rook Films are producing. Protagonist is introducing the project to international buyers, while UTA is repping domestic rights.
The story follows Lulu Danger, whose unsatisfying marriage takes a fortunate turn for the worse when a mysterious man from her past comes to town to perform a mysterious event called An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn; For One Magical Night Only.
An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn is the latest feature from Wigwam, producers of 2016 Sundance hit Under the Shadow by Babak Anvari and recent Netflix original iBoy, starring Maisie Williams. Meanwhile, Rook Films, co-founded by Ben Wheatley, has produced the hot British director's films including Free Fire and Sightseers alongside Hosking's dark comedy The Greasy Strangler, which was nominated at the British Independent Film Awards. Park Pictures, who produced 2013 hit Robot & Frank, were most recently behind The Hero, one of the standouts from this year's Sundance.
The film is being funded by the BFI with National Lottery funding, Film4 and GPS Partners. Sam Bisbee and Theodora Dunlap of Park Pictures, along with Oliver Roskill, Lucan Toh, Emily Leo of WigWam Films and Andy Starke of Rook Films are producing. David Gordon Green, the BFI's Mary Burke, Sam Lavender from Film4, Hosking, Wike, Jackie Kelman Bisbee and Lance Acord serve as executive producers.
UTA represents Hosking, along with Clement, Hirsch and Robinson. Plaza is repped by CAA and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham. Berry is repped by CAA and Troika.
