Antonio Banderas Heading 'Beyond the Edge' With AMBI
The action film marks the third time the star teams with Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s production company.
Antonio Banderas is set to play a cool-handed master of fraud in Beyond the Edge.
The actioner — being directed by Aleksandr Boguslavskiy –]— marks the third film tie-up between Banderas and AMBI Media Group, the production company set up by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi.
They previously collaborated on the Andrea Bocelli biopic The Music of Silence and thriller Black Butterfly. Both films are currently in postproduction.
Being shot in Italy, Russia and Georgia, Beyond the Edge sees Banderas' character forced to come to the aid of his son, a master thief with plans to rob a casino. When his son's plans are foiled by an adversary with an identical agenda but seemingly supernatural abilities, the only route to success is to assemble a team with telekinetic, hypnotic and telepathic powers of their own to carry out the heist.
Iervolino and Bacardi are producing the film with Russian producer Evgeniy Melentyev and his Kinodanz production company. Ares Film is executive producing. Italian director Francesco Cinquemani is co-directing the movie.
AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of the AMBI Group, is handling global sales.
