BOND/360 has also announced it has acquired the exclusive U.S. and Canadian rights to “The War Show,” billed as “harrowing and timely documentary about the Syrian conflict told from the standpoint of a former radio host and her friends as their dreams of hope and liberation in the wake of the 2011 Arab Spring give way to the grim realities of repression, civil war and forced emigration.”
The documentary first premiered at the 2016 Venice Film Festival, where it received the Venice Days Award, followed by the Toronto International Film Festival, Bergen International Film Festival, Reykjavik International Film Festival, London Film Festival, and IDFA, among others.
The film is directed by Andreas Dalsgaard and Obaidah Zytoon. BOND/360 will release the documentary in theaters in 2017 preceded by a festival and educational campaign to bring the film to campuses and communities across North America. Digital, TV and DVD will follow later in the year.
