Participant won the rights to the script, which centers on an American diplomat in Kazakhstan discovering stocks of enriched uranium after the fall of the Soviet Union, triggering a race to get it out of the country before terrorists find it. Gunn is a writer and producer on ABC’s “Designated Survivor, starring Kiefer Sutherland. He’s also written for the Starz series “Black Sails” and HBO’s “The Newsroom.” He recently sold his 2015 Black List script “The Virginian” to New Line, with Bradley Cooper attached to portray George Washington. Participant’s credits include Oscar best picture winner “Spotlight,” “Deepwater Horizon,” “The Light Between Oceans,” “Lincoln,” and “The Help.” Tribeca’s credits include “Public Enemies,” “About a Boy,” “The Good Shepherd,” and HBO’s upcoming “The Wizard of Lies,” starring De Niro as Bernie Madoff.
