Backstage Talk On Dixie Carter And Billy Corgan After TNA Meeting, New Rumors On WWE And TNA, More
As noted, Dixie Carter held a backstage meeting with TNA talents at Monday's Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando. Despite talents being happy about Dixie stepping out in front of the situation, the feeling was that nothing was settled.
In a correction from earlier, Billy Corgan was not at the meeting. He was reportedly invited to the meeting but declined, according to PWInsider. Corgan not being at the meeting caused some chatter backstage as talents really respect him right now with the feeling that he's a straight-shooter who communicates with the talents. At the same time, there hasn't been much if any communication with Dixie up until Monday's meeting. There was real concern that Dixie was going to sell the company. She told talents at the meeting that she would not let the sale happen, especially to WWE, and also said there was no real chance of Bound For Glory not happening but multiple sources say otherwise.
Dixie, who remains TNA majority owner, did acknowledge that there's been a power struggle among some of the TNA owners and Corgan not being there for the meeting was seen as very telling by some but that's still just speculation.
Corgan and Dixie have both been at this week's TV tapings.
There are rumors going around today saying WWE is purchasing the TNA tape library and that Corgan will be re-branding TNA as a new company. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross also mentioned that he heard a similar story from a reliable source but reiterated that this is just a rumor. While WWE has been in talks to purchase the library, this scenario seems unlikely as WWE wasn't interested in making a deal without non-competes for Dixie and Corgan. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter elaborated with this recent tweet:

@davemeltzerwon Why doesn't Dixie sell TNA to WWE and use the money with Corgan to start a new company?
