Billy Corgan Says He Had To Fight For 'Final Deletion,' Jay Bradley On What Affected His Push
Vince Russo's THE BRAND which could be both SEEN and HEARD daily on the RELMNetwork.com and PodcastOne.com, was highlighted this week with part two of his interview with Current TNA Superstar Jay Bradley (Aiden O'Shea) and the finale with the NEW TNA PRESIDENT Mr. Billy Corgan.
On this week's episode of ANYTHING BUT FREAKIN' RASSLIN'!, Vince wraps up his interview with Jay Bradley by discussing how he's made a successful career in wrestling by hanging his hat as a "journeyman" without ever having that big run on the WWE main stage.
Here's an excerpt of some of the pitfalls when it comes to constant changes in the management level:
"Going back to 2013, I was just doing what I was told. Eric Bischoff was acting as head of creative, or Executive Producer, and I can't count the amount of times I was told in our match meetings with our agents that Jay, you're a rookie, you're on Bound for Glory working with all these established vets, this is step one. It's not going to hurt you to take a loss here, or to be gone a week because you're new. You're dangerous-you look like you can rip a tree trunk out of the ground and hit somebody with it. I could work with that and go forward with it, but unfortunately going forward didn't happen because there was a creative change, an office change, a regime change."
Later in the week, NEW TNA President, Billy Corgan, wrapped up his interview with Vince, speaking of the changes across that board that are about to affect his company. In this excerpt, Billy discusses fighting for The Final Deletion:
"The biggest thing I had to do was push our creative, the office, Dixie, to take a chance, to go outside of the box which I know you were a big fan of. The reaction to that first angle, with Jeff going through the table, was pretty 50-50. A lot of people were howling, saying this may be the best-worst thing they've ever seen in wrestling. The day that came out I was inside the company, on my e-mail saying - We've got to do a bigger version than we just did - we have lightning in a bottle. And, there were people inside the company that were afraid to move in that direction. I pushed, and pushed and pushed for what was the Final Deletion. And now you have fans on other products chanting, "Delete, Delete, Delete."
