Alberto Del Rio Possibly Leaving WWE, Update On Paige’s Contract Status

It sounds like Alberto Del Rio may be gone from WWE for a longer period than just his 30-day suspension.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Del Rio has an out clause in his contract that allows him to leave during his suspension, and that he plans on doing just that. Del Rio is currently serving a 30-day suspension for a Wellness Policy violation, and is also reportedly dealing with a custody battle and divorce.
His girlfriend Paige is also suspended, but wouldn’t be able to leave with Del Rio as her contract doesn’t expire until April of 2019. Earlier in August it was reported that Paige had “significant” issues with WWE management, and that some company insiders were “worried” about her future there.
Del Rio was released by WWE back in 2013 after slapping an employee who made a racist joke. He returned in October of 2015, and received his suspension for a Wellness Policy violation on August 18th.
