Freestyle Digital Celebrates ‘Dependent’s Day’
Freestyle Digital Media has picked up North American rights to Dependent’s Day, a millennial love story that explores what happens to men when women are the breadwinners. An October 18 VOD launch is planned. Directed by Michael David Lynch, the relationship comedy follows Cam (Joe Burke), an unemployed actor who is claimed as a dependent by his successful girlfriend Alice (Benita Robledo). As he stumbles from one humiliating job to the next, Cam still tries to keep his dream alive as well as his relationship. Will he ever rise to the occasion? Will Alice have the patience to find out? Lisa Ann Walter, Shannon Lucio, Brian George and Todd Bridges co-star in the pic, which won the Audience Award for Comedy at the 2016 Cinequest Film Festival.
