Gravitas Ventures Acquires Worldwide VOD Rights To Richard Branson Doc ‘Don’t Look Down’
Gravitas Ventures has secured worldwide VOD rights to Don’t Look Down, the 2016 Tribeca Film Fest premiere chronicling Sir Richard Branson’s hot air balloon adventures of the 1980s and ’90s. The doc hits theaters and on demand in the U.S. this November.
Don’t Look Down tells the story behind Branson’s creation of the world’s largest hot air balloon and his cross-ocean voyages. Director Daniel Gordon, Gravitas says, “captures the intensity and passion of the team that was involved in this ambitious project as well as never-before-seen archival footage captured from inside the balloon at over 30,000 feet.
“Branson himself does not hold back, as he reveals with profound clarity what was going through his mind when he was confronted with the belief that he had just minutes left to live.”
Johnny Webb, CEO of Sundog Pictures, said “We are excited to be working with Gravitas and Submarine on the launch of Don’t Look Down. Audiences will see Sir Richard in a new way with his intense and very intimate testimony as he relives his brush with death in this sublime adventure story,”
“When Sir Richard Branson participated in Imagination Day at Tribeca, he discussed the theme of ‘daring to dream,’” said Nolan Gallagher, Founder & CEO of Gravitas Ventures. “We are excited to bring this you-must-see-it-to-believe-it account of one of life’s great adventurers to a global audience.”
Director Daniel Gordon (Crossing the Line) also produced Don’t Look Down, along with Johnny Webb, John Battsek and Iris Maor from Sundog Pictures. Sam Anthony, Hugo Heppell and Garfield Kennedy are the Executive Producers.
The deal was negotiated by Nolan Gallagher for Gravitas Ventures and by Matt Burke from Submarine on behalf of the filmmakers.
