Tucker Tooley Sets TV Series Adaptation Of Neil Strauss’ Book ‘Emergency!’
Former Relativity Studios president Tucker Tooley is expanding into television at his monied shingle Tooley Productions. The indie production company has optioned Neil Strauss’ non fiction book Emergency!: This Book Will Save Your Life to develop it as a drama television series with comedic bent.
In Emergency, best-selling journalist and author Tooley (The Game), concerned about the state of the world, moved his family offshore and remade himself as a survivalist. He became a lock-picking, plane-flying, government-defying guy. This put him a spiral of paranoid fantasies and in proximity of shady lawyers and dangerous cult leaders, billionaire gun nuts and a number of once-normal people whose doubts about the establishment prompted them to move their families into a ridiculous life path.
Tooley, CEO of Tooley Productions, and Strauss will executive produce. Search is underway for writer to pen the adaptation.
A couple of months after he left Relativity after an 8-year stint, Tooley set up the first feature for Tooley Prods., with the company coming on board to co-finance 6 Below, starring Josh Hartnett.
