deadline.com/2016/06/show-dogs-release-date-raja-gosnell-1201768972/‘Show Dogs’ Walks To November 2017 Show Dogs is on the move. The live-action talking-dog comedy from Scooby-Doo director Raja Gosnell has collared a new release date — November 10, 2017. It had been penciled in for October 13 that year. Open Road Films and Riverstone Pictures are co-producing and co-financing the pic. Production is set to begin in September on Show Dogs, which centers on Max, a rugged, lone-wolf Rottweiler police dog. He and his human cop partners get a tip that an animal-trafficking ring is planning an attack on the Eastminster Dog Show. Macho Max must undergo a makeover – mud baths, ballet lessons, a Brazilian waxing – to go undercover in order to thwart the plot. With his new human handler Frank, Max gets in touch with his inner show dog and also learns that trusting the help of others can sometimes be more rewarding than working alone. The film is moving into a weekend where its lone competition is Fox’s thriller Red Sparrow. But the release will be sandwiched between tentpole comics-based actioners Thor: Ragnarok (November 3) and The Justice League Part One (November 17). No cast has been announced for the family film, which was scripted by Max Botkin. Deepak Nayar and Philip von Alvensleben are producing, with Tom Ortenberg, Nik Bower, Max Botkin, Raja Gosnell and Scott Lambert as executive producers. Open Road International launched overseas sales at Cannes.
