variety.com/2016/film/news/sam-raimi-tornado-movie-warner-bros-1201788463/ Sam Raimi Sets up Tornado Movie at Warner Bros. Sam Raimi has set up an untitled action-adventure movie at Warner Bros., centered on a heist during a tornado in the Carolinas. The project has a working title of “Stormfall” and the studio is seeking writers for the script. Raimi is developing with an eye to direct. “Stormfall” is the second Raimi movie set up with Warner Bros. this after Bill Block came on to Raimi’s “World War 3” project in February as part of Block’s first-look deal at the studio. “World War 3” is based on predictions in George Friedman’s nonfiction best-selling book “The Next 100 Years.” Raimi created the Evil Dead movies as well as the original “Spider-Man” trilogy that starred Tobey Maguire. Raimi gained notice in 1982 with “The Evil Dead,” followed by “Crimewave,” the sequel “The Evil Dead 2,” “Darkman” and “Army of Darkness” — the third film in the “Evil Dead” series. He also directed “The Quick and the Dead,” “A Simple Plan,” the baseball drama “For the Love of the Game,” “The Gift” and “Oz the Great and Powerful.” Raimi is also the founder of Renaissance Pictures and currently producing the television series “Ash vs Evil Dead.” He is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson.
