spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2016/04/18/dave-franco-describes-auditioning-to-play-han-solo/While some actors have played it a bit coy, Dave Franco confirms he read for the role of young Han Solo in the “Star Wars” spinoff, and insists, “It’s like most other auditions.” “No, but it is,” the “Now You See Me 2″ star told a disbelieving MTV News. “Because of the nature of what it is, it just explodes everywhere, and it’s like, ‘Oh, my God,’ and everyone’s coming up to me like, ‘Dude, what’s going on ?’ and I’m like, ‘I don’t know! You know as much as me!’ “I don’t want to underplay,” Franco said. “I’m very flattered to have been, or to be — wherever they are in the conversation. But, like, it is what it is.” Although Franco obviously didn’t heed the advice of Harrison Ford — “Don’t do it” — he said he also didn’t try to do an impression of the veteran actor. “I think that’s part of the reason it’s so hard to cast this role, too,” he said. “It’s like, do they want someone to perfectly embody who Harrison Ford is, or do they want to go in a completely different route? Do they wasn’t someone to look really similar to him? I think they’re struggling with that.” It was reported just last week that 26-year-old actor Alden Ehrenreich, best known for “Hail, Caesar!,” may be donning Han Solo’s iconic black vest. However, there’s been no word yet from Lucasfilm or Disney. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the Han Solo movie arrives May 25, 2018.
