Elizabeth Trotman Tapped CEO Of Studiocanal Australia, New Zealand
PARIS — Elizabeth Trotman has been tapped CEO of Studiocanal in Australia and New Zealand.
Trotman, who was previously general manager of sales and marketing at Studiocanal in New Zealand and Australia, succeeds Robert Slaviero.
Trotman will report to Rodolphe Buet, Studiocanal’s president of international marketing and distribution. Trotman’s appointment will be effective as of March 14.
Studiocanal enjoy a strong footing in Europe with direct distribution operations in France, Germany and the U.K. The company is now focused on fast-tracking its growth in Australia and New Zealand, a region deemed strategically important due to its proximity to Asia and unique dynamic.
Studiocanal acquired Hoyts Distribution four years ago to kick off direct distribution activities in Australia and New Zealand.
“Elizabeth has a perfect understanding of Studiocanal’s local activities and teams and we have faith in her marketing experience and expertise, as well as her international profile, to help the studio cross a new threshold in this part of the world,” said Buet. “In addition to strengthening our local distribution activities, she will be responsible for initiating and developing local film production, which is strategic for us as a complement to our international productions policy.”
Trotman argued Studiocanal is “well positioned for growth in the Australasian market.” “A major focus for me will be to build and implement strategies that will enhance our growth in this diverse entertainment environment,” added the exec, who’s worked for Disney, Warner Bros. Entertainment and BBC Worldwide.
