deadline.com/2015/11/tna-impact-wrestling-pop-tv-deal-1201630072/Pop Gets Into Ring With Impact Wrestling To Become New TV Home Pop, the joint venture of CBS Corp and Lionsgate, has pacted with TNA Impact Wrestling in a deal that will make the network the exclusive U.S. TV home of the wrestling series. The deal kicks off with a live two-hour broadcast Tuesday, January 5 after which it will settle into its regular weekly 9 PM Tuesday time slot. Impact Wrestling had been airing on Discovery’s Destination America channel at 9 PM Wednesdays as part of a one-year deal. TNA programming ran on Spike from 2005-14. Pop reaches 80 million homes in the U.S. This is a move in a new direction for Pop, the former TV Guide Channel that rebranded at the beginning of the year as a destination for fans. So far, Pop’s slate of more than 400 hours of original programming had been built mostly on unscripted series, including Rock This Boat: New Kids On The Block, which was just renewed for Season 2. On the scripted side, the network has Canadian import Schitt’s Creek co-created by and starring Eugene Levy. “Wrestling has been a fan-fueled staple since the ’50s and continues to be some of the most watched, appointment-tune content in all of television today,” said Pop president Brad Schwartz. “The die-hard fandom and extraordinary passion surrounding Impact Wrestling captures the spirit of Pop as a network that celebrates fan driven entertainment and excitement.” UTA repped TNA in the deal.

www.f4wonline.com/tna-news/tna-moves-pop-tv-january-201986TNA MOVES TO POP TV IN JANUARY BY DAVE MELTZER | @davemeltzerwon | NOV 19, 2015 9:38 AM TNA announced this morning that it has signed a deal with POP TV for Impact, which will start on the station on January 5th, 2015. The show will air in a Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. time slot. Dixie Carter announced the move on Twitter stating that they are now on a station that reaches 85 million homes. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had reported that POP TV, which has been airing Paragon Pro Wrestling weekly as a time buy, along with WGN America, were in negotiations for TNA. Of the two, the POP TV deal was considered the weaker station overall even though both stations were in similar amounts of homes. It is an upgrade as far as reach is concerned, although POP TV is in closer to 75 million homes right now as compared to 57 million for Destination America. Finances were not disclosed which is the key when it comes to TNA, because there is little revenue coming in with the exception of selling the television show, since they almost never do live events that tickets are sold to, and PPV numbers are weak. TNA remains on Destination America through the end of 2015.
