Distributor loves Glass Eye Pix’s psychochiller “DARLING” for release next year
We first took you to the set of Glass Eye Pix’s DARLING here, and now comes word that the psychological chiller has been snapped up following its Fantastic Fest premiere.
Screen Media Films announced it has acquired worldwide rights to DARLING, the latest from rising writer/director Mickey Keating. Lauren Ashley Carter (pictured above) stars as a young woman who takes a job looking after a Manhattan apartment building with a tragic past, and starts losing her grip on sanity. Brian Morvant (who appeared opposite Carter in Keating’s previous POD), Sean Young, Larry Fessenden, John Speredakos and Helen Rogers co-star, and the film was produced by Fessenden, Jenn Wexler, Sean Fowler, Keating and Carter.
“Very few movies can make me incredibly uncomfortable while fascinating me,” says Screen Media’s Seth Needle. “Mickey Keating’s terrific film does just that, while paying homage to some of my absolute favorite genre films. I couldn’t be happier to be involved with distributing this one.”
Adds Keating, “DARLING is a love letter to those chilling, old-school horror films that get under your skin and stay there. I’m thrilled and honored to be teaming up with Screen Media to cause some serious nightmares for audiences around the globe.” A U.S. theatrical release is planned for early 2016.
