A deleted scene from Age of Ultron shows Thor grabbing a drink before taking a quick swim. In the scene, Chris Hemsworth's Norse god and Dr. Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) are in the Norn Cave, seeking answers about how to defeat Ultron. Thor embibes from his flask before hopping into the cave's pool. "The stone draws you all to its brilliance, and you to your end!" a possessed Thor tells Selvig. Director Joss Whedon told Empire Film Podcast that the film's cave scenes were a major point of contention between him and studio execs. According to Whedon, notes from the studio had led to the cave footage getting completely excised from the film until the project's editors were adamant that at least some of those scenes were needed. Age of Ultron also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and James Spader. It grossed $1.4 billion worldwide in its theatrical run. The Marvel film is released on Blu-ray and DVD on Oct. 2. The deleted scene, which will be available as part of the home entertainment release, can be seen below.
