Marvel’s Luke Cage has found its Cottonmouth. Mahershala Ali (House Of Cards, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) has landed the role of Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes in the third series in Marvel’s four-series package for Netflix. A Harlem nightclub owner, Stokes will become an unexpected foe in Luke’s life when Stokes’ criminal activities threaten Luke’s world.
In Luke Cage, Mike Colter plays Cage, a wrongly accused man who, granted superstrength by a sabotaged experiment, escapes prison to become a superhero for hire. Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi and Simone Messick also star along with Rosario Dawson, who will reprise her role as Claire Temple from Netflix’s Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
Cheo Hodari Coker serves as executive producer and showrunner on the series, produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
