ARC Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to Garm Wars: The Last Druid, a action-sci-fi thriller 15 years in the making directed by Ghost In The Shell helmer Mamoru Oshii. Co-written with Geoffrey Gunn, Melanie St-Pierre, Kevin Durand and Lance Henriksen star and the pic is set for an October 2 release in theaters and VOD.
The live-action/CGI pic is set on the planet Annwn, inhabited by the Garm, which engaged in perpetual warfare among three tribes, and the plot centers on a small band of warriors who struggle across the land in the search for answers to their existence, encountering raging storms, fierce giants, and mechanical mayhem. They survive these trials only to meet their most difficult challenge yet. Makoto Asanuma, Tetsu Fujimura, Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and Lyse Lafontaine produced.
