JERRY LYNN UNDERGOING MAJOR NECK SURGERY THIS WEEK, HOW YOU CAN HELP
Former TNA X-Division, ECW World and Ring of Honor champion Jerry Lynn, one of the hardest working and most well liked talents of his era, will be undergoing neck surgery this Thursday morning 8/6 to replace three degenerating discs in his neck, fuse his vertebrae and remove bone spurs that are running up and down his neck.
The surgery will be the first of several for Lynn as he will also be requiring a surgery to repair a bulging disc in his back. The plan is for Lynn to have his back surgery as soon as he is recovered from this week's neck surgery.
Lynn has been dealing with severe neck pain for years as well as pain and numbness in his right arm, factors that led to his decision to retire in March 2013 after a career that saw him wrestle all of the world for the WWF, WCW, ECW, Ring of Honor, TNA, Michinoku Pro and countless independent promotions. Lynn has been doing exercizes daily to offset the neck issues but they have continued to worsen.
Over the past several months, Lynn also began experiencing severe pain in his back, obviously the result of all the abuse he put his body through while performing his high-impact style in the ring. While he had been hoping to avoid surgery, Lynn learned two weeks ago that he no longer had any choice and would have to undergo the surgeries. This Thursday, he will go under the knife.
In order to assist Lynn and his family in offsetting the medical costs and to assist Lynn during the time period he will be unable to work his regular job while recovering from the surgeries, a Go Fund Me campaign has been launched at www.gofundme.com/helpjerrylynn.
In the event the money raised goes above and beyond the amount Lynn and his family will need, Lynn has earmarked that it will be donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission, which seeks to help the hurting of Middle Tennessee by offering food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless as well as providing recovery programs for those dealing with personal issues.
