Eli Shibley Joins IM Global TV As President Intl. Distribution And Co-Productions
Eli Shibley has joined IM Global’s TV division as President, International Distribution and Co-Productions, it was announced today by IM Global Founder and CEO Stuart Ford and IM Global TV President Mark Stern.
Shibley will work closely with Ford and Stern to expand the company’s burgeoning TV division, in particular encouraging strategic partnerships and intl co-pros between content creators and key US and global buyers. Shilby will manage sales of IM Global’s scripted slate as well as oversee acquisitions of third party scripted and unscripted projects from US, UK, and international content partners. The company will also branch out into international distribution.
Upcoming projects from IM Global TV include Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle: Darkover the popular book series by acclaimed best-selling author Marion Zimmer Bradley (The Mists of Avalon); Den Of Thieves, a noir-ish crime drama starring Carla Gugino, produced by Kevin Spacey and written by Sebastian Gutierrez (Gothika,); and Patrolman P which Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer) will exec produce along with Tom Hanks’ Playtone Productions.
“Eli is an outstanding distribution executive and his arrival is a major coup for our TV distribution business,” said Stuart Ford. “I envision scripted and unscripted TV sales becoming a substantial component of our already extensive global licensing platform in the next few years.”
Shibley comes to IM Global Television from Electus, where he served as the Senior Vice President of International Media and Formats and was instrumental in sourcing international formats for the U.S. market, including the Golden Globe winning CW series Jane the Virgin with RCTV and Aquarius Television; Prior to joining Electus, Shibley co-founded the London sales team for Shine International, and helped launch Reveille International in Los Angeles.
Shibley’s deal was brokered on behalf of IM Global by Chris Bosco, COO, and on behalf of Eli Shibley by Chad Christopher of Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson & Binder, LLP.
