Veteran music exec Jason Markey has joined STX Entertainment as EVP and Head of Music. Markey will be in charge of all aspects of the music for films including production of scores and soundtracks. He will work alongside STX’s filmmakers to source songs and develop original music for 12 to 15 movies a year. Markey began his career at MCA Records in 1990 and since then has worked in A&R at Arista Records with music mastermind Clive Davis and as the A&R Director for American Recordings. Prior to STX, he spent six years as the EVP Music & Soundtracks at Relativity Media and before that was the General Manager of Immortal Records.
