www.pwinsider.com/article/94178/65-this-day-in-history.html?p=12007 - Digital Music Group, a company that specializes in the distribution of independently owned music, film and television products via internet and mobile content, announced during a press release today that they had acquired one hundred hours of professional wrestling footage, which would be released under the banner "Wrestling Titans." The portion of the press release relating to professional wrestling footage reads, "The Wrestling Titans series features over 100 hours of classic wrestling content including wrestling legends such as Gorgeous George, Freddie Blassie, Captain Lou Albano, Pat Patterson, Andre The Giant, Lex Luger, Junkyard Dog, Nature Boy Ric Flair and many more. The series chronicles the golden years of wrestling and features the top names in the sport from the 1960's to the 1980's." While many of the names listed have appeared for different wrestling territories, great and small, over the course of their careers, so it's feasible that footage DMG has acquired is something World Wrestling Entertainment hasn't purchased. The mentions of Patterson and Blassie could be a clue some of the footage is from the San Francisco territory. However, the inclusion of Lex Luger is the most interesting name on the list. Luger worked for Championship Wrestling from Florida, Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, and the WWF over his career, with all of those libraries currently owned by WWE. To date, none of the footage acquired by Digital Music Group was ever released.
