deadline.com/2015/05/star-wars-six-films-shanghai-international-film-festival-china-1201432557/The 18th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) Organizing Committee and Walt Disney Pictures today announced that all six Star Wars films will screen at the upcoming Shanghai International Film Festival. The intention is to whet the appetite of Chinese moviegoers for the JJ Abrams-directed Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18. SIFF runs June 13-21. So that means Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace; Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones; Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith; Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope; Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back; and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi are also showing and this is the first Chinese screenings of Episodes IV, V, and VI in cinemas in China. Given how much those prequels taxed the loyalty of even the heartiest Star Wars stormtrooper elsewhere in the world, here’s hoping Disney knows what it’s doing.
