Image Entertainment Acquires John Travolta Starrer ‘Criminal Activities’
Image Entertainment acquired the North American and UK rights to Criminal Activities, the Jackie Earle Haley-directed and Robert Lowell-scripted film that stars Haley, John Travolta, Dan Stevens, Michael Pitt, Christopher Abbott, Rob Brown and Edi Gathegi. Film will be released in the fall. Pic tells the story of four young men who, while acting on an inside tip, invest in a “sure thing” only to discover the deal going south while putting them in trouble with the mob.
“This is a smart, witty, extremely commercial thriller with elements of Boiler Room and Reservoir Dogs and an ending you don’t see coming,” said Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Chief Acquisitions Officer for Image. Wayne Rice, Howard Burd and Micah Sparks produced and Rodger May, Gayle Nosal and Daniel Diamond are exec producers. WME Global repped the filmmakers and Diamond Pictures is handling international sales in Cannes.
