The move to A&E Network reflects the recent executive realignment at parent company A+E Networks that saw Rob Sharenow add oversight of A&E Network programming in addition to running Lifetime. With a bigger canvas to work with, Sharenow decided that A&E was a better fit for the spooky drama than Lifetime. “A&E’s unwavering commitment to high-quality original scripted drama programming, coupled with the sizable fanbase for our hit series ‘Bates Motel,’ which so perfectly aligns with ‘Damien,’ make the network the ideal fit for this exceptional show,” said Sharenow. “We are thrilled with what we’ve seen so far and know that Glen and the creative team have even more story to tell in season one.” Lifetime gave the project a straight-to-series order last August. The additional four episodes brings the season one order to 10. “Damien” is eyed for debut next year. “Damien” revisits the demonic child Damien Thorn from the original film as an adult who is haunted by his past. Mazzara is exec producer and showrunner the series for Fox 21 Television Studios. Ross Fineman and Pancho Mansfield also exec produce. Bradley James, Barbara Hershey, Omid Abtahi and Megalyn Echikunwoke star.
