Celina Jade To Star in ‘April Flowers’
Chinese-American actress Celina Jade will star in “April Flowers,” a U.S. indie drama that shoots from next month in New York. The film is directed by Christopher Tedrick and co-stars Jon Fletcher (CW’s “The Messenger”).
Jade plays and idealist whose dreams are fading away until she discovers an anonymous journal while on her daily commute. The personal accounts renew her faith in humanity. She sets out on a mission to return but fears that she may compromise the real relationships in her life. Tedrick directs from his own 2012 AMPAS Nicholl Fellowship semi-finalist script.
“April Flowers” is a co-venture among Myopia Pictures, Mozzlestead and Polyphony Creative. The project’s executive producers are John Dillon, Montserrat Mendez, Phil Newsom and Lanie Zipoy.
Hong Kong-born Jade is currently starring as Shado in CW’s series “Arrow,” which is currently in its third season. She recently starred opposite Asian action star Tony Jaa and Ron Perlman in “Skin Trade” which hits theaters and VoD in the U.S. on May 8. Earlier credits include hit Chinese martial arts feature “Legendary Assassin,” Universal’s “The Man with The Iron Fists,” and the Taiwanese feature “Tomorrow Comes Today.”
Golden Globe winner Keir Dullea (“2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Guiding Light”), Mia Dillon (“Gods And Generals,” “The Money Pit”), Sean Cullen (Michael Clayton, Boardwalk Empire), Kate Middleton (“Mercy”) and Gannon McHale (“Lincoln”) round out the cast.
