Christian Cooke (Magic City) has been cast as the co-lead opposite Quaid in the project, which has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order from the digital network. Quaid also executive produces The Art Of More (formerly Sold) alongside Laurence Mark, Gary Fleder, the project’s creator Chuck Rose and showrunner Gardner Stern. Written by Stern and Rose, the drama explores the underbelly — and surprisingly cutthroat world — of premium auction houses, filled with hustlers, smugglers, power mongers and collectors of the beautiful and the bizarre. It follows a blue-collar young man, Graham Connor (Cooke), who leverages his way into this exclusive existence by exploiting his connections to antiquities smuggling rings he was exposed to as a soldier in Iraq. Quaid plays charismatic real estate shark Samuel Brukner, a Machiavellian master of money and power who’s one part charm and one part intimidation. Brukner is the life of the party, but when it comes to his money, he can be ruthless, shrewd and corrupt. In addition to its signature comedy talk show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Crackle carries game show Sports Jeopardy! On the drama side, it has distributed several shows in a 23-minute episode format, including Chosen, Cleaners and Sequestered. Rose and Stern are with Echo Lake Management. Rose is also repped by APA and Mark Temple.
