K5 Picks Up Tribeca Competition Title ‘Meadowland’
LONDON — Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur’s K5 International has taken international rights on “Meadowland,” which world premieres in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival.
K5 also has the rights to three other films world premiering at Tribeca: competition player “The Survivalist,” “Dirty Weekend” and “When I Live My Life Over Again.”
“Meadowland” is the directorial debut of cinematographer Reed Morano, who was named one of Variety’s “10 Cinematographers to Watch” in 2011.
The pic centers on the fragmenting relationship between Sarah (Olivia Wilde) and Phil (Luke Wilson) following the disappearance of their son. Wilde’s credits include “Rush” and “Her,” while Wilson appeared in “Middle Men” and “3:10 to Yuma.”
Supporting actors include Kevin Corrigan, John Leguizamo, Elisabeth Moss, Giovanni Ribisi, Juno Temple and Merritt Wever.
The film is written by Chris Rossi, and produced by Wilde, Margot Hand, Matt Tauber and Aaron L. Gilbert. The film is a Bron Studios production in association with
Creative Wealth Media Finance.
Stephen Fingleton’s “The Survivalist” is a dystopian thriller starring Martin McCann, Mia Goth and Olwen Fouere. Pic focuses on a lone man who lives off a small plot of land hidden deep in the forest. When a starving woman and her teenage daughter arrive, the man breaks his strict code of self-preservation and accepts them into his cabin, whilst the women plot to get rid of him.
“When I Live My Life Over Again” is a New York-based drama starring Christopher Walken, Amber Heard and Oliver Platt. Heard plays Jude, the daughter of a famous crooner Paul Lombard (Walken). For proud, feisty Jude, spending time with her egocentric, impossible-to-please father becomes her worst nightmare as he plots his big comeback.
“Dirty Weekend” is written and directed by “Nurse Betty’s” Neil LaBute, and stars Matthew Broderick and Alice Eve. When businessman Les (Broderick) finds himself delayed in a city where a year earlier a few too many drinks had led to an unexpected encounter. Accompanied by his co-worker Nat (Eve) and half-remembered details that have haunted him since, he sets out to figure out what really happened that night.
